Tell us about yourself!

I’m proud to say I was born and raised right here in Bedford. My husband, Ben, and I both attended Bedford High School—he was part of the very first graduating class from the newly built school back in 2010. After college, we found our way back home in 2021, and we’re now raising our three young children, ages 4, 2.5, and 1.5, in the same community that shaped us. I work full-time in Human Resources within the pharmaceutical industry, and I also help run Castelot Plumbing Solutions —managing everything from marketing and bookkeeping to leading our community service initiatives. Life is busy, but I truly enjoy the energy and purpose that come with staying involved and giving back.

Tell us about your business!

In 2024, we officially launched our plumbing business after Ben earned his Master Plumber license. Growing up, we always knew we wanted to own a business in some capacity, and building something together that serves our community has been incredibly rewarding. We’re passionate about delivering high-quality plumbing services throughout southern New Hampshire. Whether it’s a new construction project, a full gut remodel, or the occasional service call, you’ll usually find Ben on-site, hands-on and fully committed to the work.

What does a “day in the life” look like for you?

Most mornings, you’ll find me at Pure Barre Bedford in their 5:30 class—it’s my favorite way to start the day with a little “me time.” As a working mom, those quiet moments are rare and incredibly valuable. After my non-negotiable cup of coffee, the rest of the day is a whirlwind of multitasking: answering calls for our business, doing daycare drop-off, and diving into my corporate job. In my free time, I love cooking with my kids, playing pickleball, and spending time by the lake or ocean—anywhere we can enjoy the outdoors together as a family.

What are your favorite local spots in town?

When I am not at Barre you can find me getting an iced Peppermint Bark coffee at the Scoop.

Do you have any plumbing tips specifically for busy families or parents of young kids?

For households with teens or young adults, it’s a smart idea to clearly label the main water shut-off valve with a tag that reads “Main Water Shut-Off.” In the event of an emergency, this simple step can save valuable time and help prevent extensive water damage. Clear labeling ensures that anyone in the home can act quickly and confidently if a pipe bursts or a major leak occurs.

What should homeowners be doing regularly to prevent costly plumbing repairs?

To avoid frozen or burst pipes during the colder months, always remember to disconnect garden hoses from outdoor faucets before the first frost in the fall. Leaving hoses attached can trap water in the line, increasing the risk of freezing!

Can you walk us through what someone should do if there’s a sudden leak or burst pipe in the home?

In the event of a sudden pipe burst or water leak, every adult in the household should be familiar with the location of the main water shut-off valve. Quick action can prevent extensive water damage and costly repairs.

  • For homes with a private well: The shut-off valve is typically located near the well tank, which is often a blue, cylindrical unit found in the basement. Turn the valve to the closed position and contact a licensed plumbing professional immediately.
  • For homes connected to municipal water: The main shut-off valve is usually located in the basement, either just before or just after the water meter. Close the valve promptly and call a professional for assistance.

Taking a few minutes to locate and understand how to operate your home’s main water shut-off valve can make all the difference in an emergency.

What are your goals for your business in the next 3-5 years?

As we approach our first official year in business, we’re excited about the future and deeply committed to becoming an integral part of the Bedford community. Our goal is to continue building strong relationships and to be a trusted resource for anyone in need of reliable, high-quality plumbing services.

What is your best piece of advice for people looking to start a business?

There’s never a perfect time to start something new. When we moved back to Bedford, launching our own business was part of our five-year plan—but the opportunity came sooner than expected, and it turned out to be the best decision we’ve ever made, especially with a young family. One of the most valuable aspects of this journey has been the power of community networking. It’s something I truly cherish, both professionally and personally. I believe one of the keys to starting a successful business is immersing yourself in that local network. I absolutely love connecting with other business owners and young professionals—those relationships have been both inspiring and instrumental in our growth.
