Here at The Bedford Mom we believe that Moms deserve to be recognized and celebrated! This month we are so excited to introduce you to Kinsey Campin. She’s a creative, community-minded Mom who traded California sunshine and Texas heat for the storybook charm of Bedford. A mom to two sweet boys, Aaron and Calvin, and wife to Chris, she balances family life with active community involvement, including volunteering with The Bedford Mom. Kinsey also serves as the adoptive Mom to 7 fuzzy kids: 3 dogs (Newton, Tilly, and Watson), 2 cats (Casper and Max), and 2 bunnies (Chandler and Joey). A creative at heart, she loves art projects, home improvements, and getting lost in a good book—Emma holding a permanent spot at the top of her list. She loves the natural setting and community that is Bedford.
Tell us about yourself!
As a fairly new resident of Bedford, I am fortunate to be embraced by such a glorious community. Having spent the majority of my life between Texas and California, this winter wonderland we call Bedford has Hallmark movie vibes and I am here for it. My husband Chris and I raise two wonderful boys, Aaron and Calvin. In addition to holding down the fort, I currently volunteer in both the schools and the community.
Tell us about your work!
My most important role is that of Mom, but I do find time to volunteer within the community. I currently serve as the Artistic Director on the Board of the Friends of the Bedford Library, where I apply my creative skills to website design and marketing graphics and materials for the many events the Friends helps bring to town. While I have supported fundraising efforts in the past, my focus is on using my artistic talents to benefit and connect with the community I love. I am also a certified Pilates instructor.
What are your favorite local restaurants?
Pressed Café, Manchester Country Club, and Bedford Village Inn are my top picks. The chicken piccata at the Evviva Trattoria restaurant is a favorite. I am a self-proclaimed desert aficionado, and when cheesecake is on the menu my sweet tooth is in heaven.
What is your favorite way to practice self-care?
Pilates, nature, and I find the spa extremely relaxing.
What brought you to Bedford?
I followed my husband to this area to be closer to his family and friends, including his sister who lives in NH. He went to college and medical school in New England and has life-long friends in the area. My sister-in-law had the inside scoop and mentioned how good the school districts were in Bedford which was a high priority on this Mom’s list.
What is your favorite thing about Bedford?
The woods, especially my backyard. I love nature and wildlife viewing is a daily occurrence here. I often see a momma bobcat and her cub along with the deer in my own backyard.
What are your favorite local spots in town?
The library and the country club are my consistent hang outs here. I also enjoy spending time at home, especially my backyard sanctuary.
What is your best piece of advice for moms who are new in town?
Look for ways to volunteer, whether through school, church, or elsewhere in the community. As a new Mom to Bedford this has been the best way I’ve met people and developed strong friendships.
What is your best piece of advice for expecting moms or new moms?
Get involved, trust your intuition, and you’ll quickly find your people.
In closing, we hope you enjoyed reading this article about Kinsey! If you’d like to nominate a Bedford mom to be spotlighted, please submit your nomination via email to info@thebedfordmom.com. Thanks so much!
