Tell us about yourself!
I am Dr. Brooke Schuessler, a happy new mom, former Miss New Hampshire and family chiropractor. I am a passionate advocate for health and concussion recovery, lobbying on Capitol Hill each March and founded National Concussion Awareness Day. After graduating Sherman College of Chiropractic and serving the state as Miss NH, I opened Crossroads Chiropractic alongside my amazing husband, Dr. John! We served on our most recent chiropractic mission trip in 2022 and in total I have served on 9 missions since I was 13 years old from Bolivia, Haiti, Dominican Republic and more.

Tell us about your business!
Starting 25 years ago in Pembroke, founded by my mother, we brought Crossroads Chiropractic south– to Bedford! Our mission is to help families in Bedford and the surrounding communities live healthier, more vibrant lives through natural, neurologically-based chiropractic care. We believe that true health starts from within, and by focusing on the spine and nervous system, we help the body function at its best.
Our office is designed with families in mind—from infants and children to adults and seniors. Whether you’re seeking relief from pain, support during pregnancy, recovery from injury, or simply a proactive approach to wellness, we provide gentle, personalized chiropractic care to meet your needs. We’re passionate about empowering our patients with knowledge, offering not only adjustments but also education and resources to support overall well-being.

Can you tell us the story behind your practice? How did it all begin?
I was actually born while my mother was in chiropractic college– so you could say I was destined to serve in this capacity. Twenty five years ago my mother founded Crossroads Chiropractic in Pembroke, later expanding to Merrideth and Epping. After serving a year as Miss New Hampshire 2023, Dr. John and myself decided to plant roots in Bedford opening up Crossroads Chiropractic at Bedford in April 2023!
What inspired you to become a chiropractor in the first place?
In 2014 I was kicked in the head while in my mandatory gym class and sustained a traumatic brain injury. This shaped my teen years, losing 5 years of memories, the ability to dance and gave me a new perspective on health after years of headaches, light sensitivity, memory issues, fatigue and more. I saw that so frequently we are handed medications to cover up signals our bodies are trying to send to us, often leading down the slippery slope to needing more and more medical interventions or medications. I knew that option was not for me, found natural ways of healing, became an advocate and appreciated my moms care as a chiropractor more than ever. Now I have the biggest honor to care for families!
How would you describe your chiropractic philosophy in just a few words?
Chiropractic, to me, is about more than relieving pain—it’s about restoring the body’s ability to heal, adapt, and thrive at every stage of life by removing misalignments in the spine. The philosophy is quite simply rooted in the belief that the body can heal itself!
Do you specialize in working with certain groups (like kids, athletes, or expectant moms)?
We are a full family practice, meaning we truly see the whole family! From newborn babies, expectant moms, grandparents and everything in between. We are Webster Certified, meaning we utilize a special technique for adjusting expectant moms and truly believe everyone deserves holistic, nervous system based chiropractic care during every stage of life.

What does a typical first visit look like for someone new to your office?
A typical first visit at Crossroads Chiropractic is all about getting to know you and your health goals. We start with a warm welcome and a conversation about your history, current concerns, and what you’re hoping to achieve through chiropractic care. From there, we complete a thorough evaluation, which may include digital scans, a physical assessment, and any necessary testing to understand how your spine and nervous system are functioning.
We believe in being thorough, so this first appointment is about gathering information—not rushing into care. Once we’ve reviewed your results, we’ll schedule a follow-up to go over your personalized care plan. That way, you’ll have a clear picture of what’s going on in your body, how we can help, and what to expect moving forward.
Our goal is to make sure every new patient feels heard, supported, and confident in their next steps toward better health.
Many people are curious (or even nervous) about chiropractic care. How do you help them feel comfortable?
We start by listening—really listening—to your concerns, your story, and your goals, many times our amazing practice members tell us this is the first time the have felt heard while in a doctors office. From there, we explain every step of the process so you know exactly what to expect and what your body is currently experiencing/adapting to for misalignments. Our approach is gentle, family-focused, and tailored to each individual, whether it’s a newborn, a parent, or a grandparent.
By focusing on education, transparency, and compassion, we aim to replace any fear or uncertainty with trust and confidence. We want each person who walks through our doors to feel cared for, supported, and empowered on their health journey.
Do you often work with multiple members of the same family?
All the time! Currently three generations of some incredible Bedford families!
Can you share an example of a success story that really sticks with you?
There are so many, and we are beyond grateful for that! Top three: couple trying to conceive after 3 years– finally naturally conceive while under care staying well adjusted; Older gentleman saying “I gotcha!” after we did not realize he was walking without his cane for the first time in years; watching ‘colicy’ babies become peaceful babies, sleeping, eating and playing better than ever!
What do you love most about being a chiropractor?
I love serving and I love preaching that our bodies are amazing (especially to kiddos)! Ever cut your finger? Your body heals it from the inside out! Chiropractic care is all about making sure your body is functioning the way it’s meant and designed to!
If you could share one piece of advice with busy moms about prioritizing their own wellness, what would it be?
Your nervous system wires their nervous system. Invest in moments for yourself because it truly will change how they are able to relate to the world!
What is your best piece of advice for people looking to start a business?
My best piece of advice for people looking to start a business is to anchor everything you do in your “why.” Challenges will come—long hours, setbacks, moments of doubt—but if you’re clear on the purpose that drives you, it becomes much easier to stay resilient and keep moving forward.
What are your favorite local spots in town?
I have loved watching Bedford continue to grow and expand in its abundance of offerings but community centered living. You can almost always find me at Whole Foods, Gusto or Ariya Aesthetics.
How can people connect with you and follow your business?
