Tell us about yourself!
My name is Missy and I live in town with my husband Bryan, 4-year-old daughter Adelyn (Addy), 20-month-old daughter Louisa (Lou Lou), and our goldendoodle, Ollie. I am a former middle school administrator and now Account Manager at a K-12 Adaptive Learning Company. I grew up in the lakes regions in Wolfeboro, NH and moved to Baltimore, MD for school/work in 2005. We relocated closer to family in Bedford, NH after the birth of our second daughter in 2023.
Tell us about your work!
I worked for Baltimore County Public Schools for 14 years as an ELA educator, Professional Development Specialist/Coach, and Assistant Principal. My background in educational leadership and professional development led me to a career as an Account Manager at a leading K-12 Adaptive Learning Company. In this role, I partner school to find solutions to meet the needs of their staff and diverse learners. I love being able to continue to support educators, while meeting the needs of my family.
What are your favorite local restaurants?
We enjoy visiting Bedford Village Inn, Copper Door, Pressed, Sweetgreen, Flight Coffee Co., and Inside Scoop.
What is your favorite way to practice self-care?
I enjoy going out to a nice restaurant, a day at the spa, or a walk/hike with friends and family.
What brought you to Bedford?
We moved here to be closer to family (my sister already lived in town). We were drawn to the amazing schools and convenient location.
What is your favorite thing about Bedford?
We love how family friendly the town is with lots of options for entertaining littles. We also love how conveniently it is located to the ocean/lakes/mountains/city. It makes a great base-camp!
What are your favorite local spots in town?
We enjoy spending time at Joppa Hill Farm, the Library, Pulpit Rock Conservation Area, “The Fairy Trail” at Muller Park, Ann DeNicola Memorial Playground.
What is your best piece of advice for moms who are new in town?
When I first moved to town, I was a stay-at-home mom for the first-time in my life. The first thing we did was join the Library and various classes (Lefton Dance and BYPC). We met so many wonderful parents/friends through free library events and local youth classes. There are many young families here who are drawn to the town for similar reasons!
