It’s owned and operated by a local mom, Keri Levesque-Buchanan. Learn all about her and her business below!
Tell us about yourself!
My name is Keri Levesque-Buchanan. I live in Goffstown NH with my amazing Husband Doug and my 3 boys. Garett 19 (serving our country in the United States Navy), Griffin 18 (Freshman at Plymouth State University), and Rylan 13 (7th grade). I grew up in Vermont, and moved to this area in 2001. I love that we are close to the Ocean, close to Boston, as well as our own little airport!! This community has been incredible to me as well as my family and my business. I’m proud to call this place home.
Tell us about your business!
Michael Thomas Salon opened in September 2004. We turn 20 this year!!!! I’m in my 30th year in this amazing indurstry and I love it more now than ever! I work next to amazing professionals on this team who make every day a gift. They are driven, passionate and I couldn’t be more grateful spending my days with them.
What does a “day in the life” look like for you?
A day in the life for me starts with me getting my 7th grader to school, at 8 am, going into the salon to manage office/paper work. Taking clients at 10 am, helping my team of 12 with anything they need, juggling phone calls, formulation questions, education schedules, payroll, retail orders and supply orders. Leaving after 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5 on Wed and Fridays. Long days however so fullfilling.
What are your goals for your business in the next 3-5 years?
My goals for the next 3 to 5 years in to continue to be the best leader I can be. To help my team reach their goals in their personal and professional lives. To work ON my business and less IN my business which is always a challenge as I love my craft so much. Being a day maker for a guest….and making a client look and feel their best never gets tiring.
What are your favorites local spots in town?
My favorite local spots in town are……Date night with my husband Doug at The Copper Door. Also a T-bones Fan as well. 🙂
My other favorite business in Bedford is most certainly Dachowski Photography. I have worked with them all 20 years…..Jeff and Carrolle hands down the best. 🙂
What is your best piece of advice for people looking to start a business?
My best piece of advice for anyone looking to start a business is to have mentors. Have people in your life who will be honest with you, to help you with advice and guidance and patience. I’m the most grateful to have amazing leaders and teachers in my own life. It takes time, drive, passion and some sleepless nights. If it were easy everyone would have their own business. Easy it is not, worth it when you love it….most definitely.
