Here at The Bedford Mom we believe that moms deserve to be recognized and celebrated! This month we are so excited to feature Diana Vachon, a devoted mom of two who gives back to our community through her work at New Morning School. Learn all about her below!
Tell us about yourself!
Hi. My name is Diana Vachon and I live in Bedford with my husband, Jeff and our two kids, Joanna and Ryan. Joanna is 9 and Ryan is 6. I was born and raised in Nashua but I have lived in Bedford since 2010. I love living here. I have met some amazing people and my children have had great school experiences. Plus, what’s better than a Whole Foods AND Trader Joe’s 3 miles from my house?

Tell us about your work!
Right out of college I went to work in Chelmsford, MA at an alternative high school for students with emotional and behavioral challenges. I worked there for several years and then took a job as a behavioral therapist for children with autism. I then switched roles to be back in a school and worked in the alternative education program at Souhegan High School. I worked there until I had my first child. I was lucky enough to then stay home and raise my children for 9 years. This was my most rewarding ( and hardest) job. I am so thankful for that time with my babies! I decided when my youngest child was 5 to head back to work. I took a job as paraprofessional at Peter Woodbury School in hopes to ease back in to the working world and worked there briefly when I was presented with an opportunity to become a pre-K teacher at New Morning Schools. I love working with this age group and I have so much fun every day! My students make me laugh every day and teach me so much!
What are your favorite local restaurants?
My favorite local spot for coffee in Bedford is Inside Scoop. I highly recommend an iced latte made with oat milk. I also love dining at any Mexican restaurant in town and enjoy sushi from Sun Shui. My favorite pizza in town is the spinach and feta pizza from Yianni’s! Yum!
