Here at The Bedford Mom we love sharing about and celebrating local businesses! This month we are excited to feature July Nights Studio, a family and wedding photographer based in southern New Hampshire. Learn all about Lindsay and her awesome business below!

Tell us about yourself!

Hey there, I’m Lindsay! I first picked up a DSLR camera all the way back in 2009 as a Sophomore in high school, I was so naturally drawn to photography from the very beginning, and that desire to continue something that I was passionate about propelled me into attending and graduating from the New Hampshire Institute of Art in 2015 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Photography+Printmaking. Born and raised in New England, I grew up in a tiny little town in the middle of one of the most beautiful regions in central Maine. I now reside in Southern, NH and when I’m not out and about with my camera, I can be found spending time outdoors, reading a good thriller novel (looking at you, Karin Slaughter + Colleen Hoover) or spending quality time just hanging out with my Husband, our two year-old Daughter, pup and two cats!

Tell us about your business!

I started my business in the September of 2021 with a focus in family photography, but in the last several months I have really submerged myself in photographing weddings! Family photography is definitely my bread and butter, but I have a huge passion for photographing a couple’s special day as well!

What does a “day in the life” look like for you?

I stay home with my two year old daughter so when I’m not spending time with her I can be found editing recent photo sessions on my laptop or responding to inquiries. I am also trying to grow my social media platforms more so I try to post frequently and engage with other photographers online as well. I really love the community of photographers I have “met” through social media!

What are your goals for your business in the next 3-5 years?

My goals for the next 3-5 years is to continue growing my business overall, especially as a wedding photographer!

What are your favorites local spots in town?

I love Joppa Hill Farm! Wether it’s exploring and visiting all the animals there with my daughter or using their fields as a location to shoot at; we are there often! After a visit to the farm, I love to grab a chocolate chip cookie and an iced coffee from Flight Coffee Company (get the butterscotch flavor, you won’t regret it!)

What is your best piece of advice for people looking to start a business?

To really just jump in and go for it! When I first decided I wanted to start my own business, I was driving home from the grocery store with my daughter and the thought just came to me that I would really like to start using my degree. I got home and the first thing I did was create a business page on Facebook and from there everything started to fall into place. So my advice would be that if you have something you’re passionate about and there is a demand for it then don’t be afraid to just put your pen to paper and get to work making your goals a reality!

How can people connect with you and follow your business?

You can find me on Facebook and Instagram @JulyNightsStudio or check out my website www.JulyNightsStudio.com I would love to connect and be considered to capture the special moments that make up your life!
